Valley Alert Lifeline
The first project of the Association was initiated in cooperation with the MSA Hospital. The Emergency Home Response System started with 12 units and has now grown to over 200 units. In 1997, it registered as a separate non-profit society as Valley Alert Lifeline.
Abbotsford Health Awareness
Initiated in 2 locations - the Abbotsford Seniors Association Hall and the Royal Canadian Legion - the clinics are attended by over 100 seniors weekly. The clinics are places for seniors to come and have their blood pressure checked, participate in an exercise program and learn about living healthier lifestyles.
Peer Support for Seniors
Sponsored in 1992, this is a very successful peer-counselling program. Trained senior volunteers help other seniors deal with emotional and practical issues and concerns.
