| On April 24, 1989, the Council for Healthy Aging was formed as an umbrella organization to coordinate and promote activities supporting the health and wellbeing of seniors in the Abbotsford area. In January 1990, they applied for and received society status under the new name of Abbotsford Association for Healthy Aging. The Abbotsford Association for Healthy Aging Society has recently merged with the Fraser Valley Seniors Resource Centre to create the Seniors Healthy Aging Resource Environment Society or SHARES. |
