Calling All Seniors is a group of volunteers who work from home and telephone seniors who:
- may be new to the area;
- may be alone and lonely;
- may be recovering from an illness;
- may be shut-in or isolated;
- don't have the time for a visitor but would like to talk.
Referrals are made by:
- Family members;
- Friends and/or neighbours;
- Medical Personnel;
- Mental Health Geriatric Team;
- Home Health Care;
- Seniors Clinic at the Abbotsford Regional Hospital & Cancer Centre;
- Assisted Living Facilities
- Self-referral
Volunteers Wanted
We welcome you to join us as a volunteer in the Calling All Seniors Program. Volunteers are required to attend a training workshop, have a criminal record check, complete a calling record form, and occasionally meet with the Calling All Seniors coordinator and other volunteers.
